Dear eHUG members,

We have a copy of HyperCard available for sale. TidBITS announces a new title in their Take Control series and new releases of SuperCard and HyperNext have been announced. We are also looking for new active members.

HyperCard 2.3 Offer

Because Apple decided to stop selling HyperCard, eHUG is collecting original copies. Recently, we acquired HyperCard 2.3, which we now offer at Û45,-- plus shipping cost*. The package includes all original HyperCard 2.3 and AddMotion II floppy disks and all manuals that were originally included. We will add a CD with the contents of the floppy disks and the HyperCard 2.4 and 2.4.1 updates. You can ask us to include more HyperCard stacks and other software on the CD. For more information, contact the eHUG co-ordinator. To benefit from this offer, you have to be an eHUG member.
*) Shipping cost differs by destination.

TidBITS' Take Control

In TidBITS' Take Control series, a new e-book has been released. The latest addition discusses how to Take Control of Spam with Apple Mail. You can receive this and other TidBITS publications for free if you write a review. Write reviews of at most 400 words in your language or in English. You can send requests for a copy for review to the eHUG coordinator at. For a list of titles, visit the web site <http://www.tidbits.com/takecontrol/>.

SuperCard

Solutions Etcetera has announced SuperCard 4.5. This new release is expected to include many new features, such as ruler based paragraph level formatting, embedded objects in text, alpha-channel graphic masking, up to 800 percent faster script execution, a modular help system, and automatic syntax completion and lookup. In this way, SuperCard seems to keep ahead of its major competitor. Everyone who buys version 4.1 now is entitled to a free update (see website for more information). HyperCard owners receive a major discount. A trial version (still 4.1.2) is available at <http://www.supercard.us>. There is also a special page for HyperCard users at <http://www.supercard.us/HyperCard/index.html>.

HyperNext

Version 1.2 of HyperNext has been released. New features include faster compilation, faster and more robust runtime engine, player/standalone runtime engine future compatible, easy network communication with remote applications, smaller footprint (5MB instead of 10MB), and enhancements to fields, graphics and design interface. HyperNext still lacks many features, such as scripted navigation between different stacks. Its visual appearance could also be improved. Still, HyperNext could be a solution for hobbyists and students who can't afford heavier and more expensive tools. More information is available at <http://www.tigabyte.com>.

Looking for active members

We are looking for people who would like to do translations of our newsletter and web site. It is also important that an eHUG representative is available at the Apple Expo 2004 in Paris. If you would like to actively participate in eHUG, please contact the eHUG coordinator.
